To our incredible Desire community,
We have an important piece of information to share. The Desire Unchained event will not be happening this October, but for a very intentional reason—we are taking a development year to ensure the future of the event is stronger, more aligned with our values, and more deeply connected to the communities we serve.
This year, our team will be traveling along the West Coast, linking up with local queer communities, learning, and fostering relationships that will help shape the next evolution of Desire Unchained. Instead of flying to Palm Springs it’s very possible we are coming to a city near you! Additionally, we are in the process of securing a new venue. The hotel we partnered with last year no longer aligns with our values, and we refuse to compromise on the integrity of our event and the safety of our community.
This extra time also allows us to grow in other ways. Sarge, one of the new owners, is completing their MBA, and if there’s one key lesson they’ve shared with us it’s that you can’t rush perfection. Taking this year to plan, develop, and build will ensure that Desire Unchained returns stronger than ever. In the meantime we’ll be hosting smaller events that keep the community together and engaged. This next year isn’t going to be all work, there will be play!
